As you know, each of our subscribers have content of their Datagain system tailored to suit their business. The initial database is created through experience and understanding of your organisation and we aim to include all the series we think you might find useful; however this list does evolve over time as you let us know specific items you would like to track.
When it comes to upgrade time and adding new datasets to Datagain, we are often asked why we can not just make all the series available. When you also consider that one of the most common support questions we receive is “Which series is best for…” you will realise why not. If it is difficult to make a decision between a few similar series, then it becomes almost impossible when you are faced with hundreds.
So which is the best series, and how do you make that decision? Realistically the series in Datagain are unlikely to exactly match the specifications you need as there are simply too many variations. It is better, therefore, to use the data as a guide to how the market is trending, this is why Datagain displays the data graphically. If you think of the market as a whole and graph all of the series with descriptions that are a near match, regardless of origin, delivery terms or region, you will quickly see the trend.
You can hide the series and then leave just the more important indicators on your resulting chart. Despite not finding the exact series specification, you will still be armed with the right information with which to negotiate your contracts.
Remember too, that if you can not find any data that meets your needs, you can request that we look for it for you. Contact us at support@mintec.ltd.uk to let us know.
